As a documentary family photographer, my clients invite me into their homes and lives in order to preserve a bit of their family as it exists in that moment. The third Friday of each month, I am returning the favor by inviting you all into my home and my life and sharing a bit of my family as we are today. Enjoy.
The new splash pad in Fuquay-Varina has only been open for about a month. It’s something that our area has needed for quite some time and the Town of Fuquay-Varina did an awesome job building a splash park that is accessible to everyone. We checked it out a couple of weeks ago and are happy to report that it was not overly crowded and we all had a great time! With multiple young children, some of whom are a bit too fearless for their own good, and none of whom swim well yet, pools and especially lakes can be anxiety provoking, to say the least. I don’t like to be outnumbered in water with that many non-swimmers. We still get hot though and we still love to play in the water. This splash pad is the perfect place for some safer summer fun.
If you go:
Currently, the splash pad is open daily from 11 am – 7 pm seven days a week and will be open at least through Labor Day this year; possibly longer, pending weather. There is no admission charge. The splash pad is located at South Park, 900 South Main Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC. Currently, there is very limited seating around the splash pad area, but there is a large grassy area perfect for setting up lawn chairs. The grass does get wet, so I recommend bringing folding chairs rather than setting up a blanket on the grass. Future plans include a picnic area and updated playground equipment for the playground at South Park next to the splash pad.
